The HEROIC Diet


The HEROIC Diet was designed by Jennie Lee Riddle in her own battle with chronic inflammatory illness and cancer. It creates conditions that are unfavorable to tumor biology while strengthening whole-body resilience.


In plain english, lower sugar spikes, starve cancer’s favorite fuels, help the body clean up damaged cells, block blood-vessel growth to tumors, calm inflammation, balance hormones, cool histamine reactions, rebuild gut health, and restore daily rhythms so the body can heal better.

How the HEROIC Diet Works

Lower glycemic/insulinemic load → down-modulate insulin/IGF-1 signaling; favor AMPK activation; temper mTOR drive.

•    Promote metabolic flexibility (keto-lean patterning) → increase fatty-acid oxidation; support ketone availability for brain/mitochondria.

•    Encourage Autophagy and support apoptosis signaling via fasting windows, polyphenols, sulfur compounds, and catechins.

•    Emphasize anti-angiogenic phytonutrients (berries, alliums, crucifers, herbs/spices) to hinder tumor neovascularization.

•    Reduce inflammatory cytokines (NF-κB tone) through omega-3s, crucifers, olives/avocados, and targeted spice blends.
